The Chassignol project consists of 42 claims for 713 hectares, located immediately north of Agnico Eagle's Laronde mine property.
Previous Ministry of Natural Resources surveys show overlapping magnetic and gravimetric anomalies along a roughly east-west-striking formation of chloritized andesites. Surface samples returned anomalous gold and copper values. Significant gravimetric anomalies are present over this property. The project rocks are characterized by intense, possibly iron-rich, chloritization. This alteration process is similar to those observed during the formation of volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits.
The property lies in a belt of both gold and base metal mineralization in the form of semi-massive to massive sulphide volcanogenic-type mineralization.
